Cottage rental
Currently we have one cottage for short-stay rent. The cottage is private and scenically situated. You can book per night or weekly all year round.
The cottage is winterized and includes all the facilities that one might expect. On the grounds there are two sheds together with earth cellars.

Furnishing
The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, with dining area for 8 persons. There is also digital TV and a "sofa corner".
In one of the two bedrooms there is a double bed, the other bedroom is equipped with a bunk bed (2 beds).
All rooms have sanded and newly polished wooden floors. The original sawn timber is left giving a luscious, natural feel to all the floors.
Very cosy and popular with children is the loft which is decorated with tongued spruce panel and holds two beds together with a TV corner, sofa, digital TV and video/dvd.
All rooms have doors with locks and fine furniture throughout.
The cottage exterior has standing wood cover boarding and is painted red with white corners. It has double-glazed windows and its own water supply from a drilled spring.

The Grounds
The plot is 2000 m2 and mostly covered with grass, it holds 2 sheds for storage and a wood shed etc. At the plot there is also an older "earth cellar", in full working condition. The garden has several flower beds together with bushes and fruit trees.
The grounds are bordered by surrounding farming and woodland; on several sides by large and beautiful lilac hedges and other blooming bushes.
At the gable end to the south is the verandah, with its garden furniture & barbecue and for those who have a special festival day to commemorate there is also a flagpole.

The Surrondings
The surrounding area consists of a couple of small farming plots and woodland. Circa 200 metres from the cottage you will find our inland lake "Stockholmstorpesjön". The lake, which is almost a perfect circle, has a area of 45,000m2. Here, a barbecue area has been constructed. The spot is private and reserved for cottage renters. It is a lovely place to simply experience and watch the sunset over the lake whilst enjoying an evening barbecue. Such is country life here in Sweden!
About 1.5km north from here on the shores of Jonsbersviken, cottage renters may hire a boat to take a day trip out onto the Baltic Sea. Naturally, there is also the option to discover the archipelago in a more organized way. Read more under “Activities”, where you also can learn about further activities and sightseeing at the Vikbolandet and its surroundings.
The nearest supermarket is situated in Arkösund (Arkö Livs) about 7km from the cottage. For a wider range of supplies there is an Ica Supermarket 20km away in Östra Husby in the centre of Vikbolandet. In both shops you are able to gamble on the day’s horse racing (ATG) and order alcohol through the state-owned Systembolaget.

For Children
The cottage is very child friendly, without traffic or dangerous waters in the vicinity. There are some toys for the younger children. At the estate there are horses and deer breeding (starts during winter 2007-2008). Read more about this in the link to the left.
The loft will undoubtably be the children’s favourite spot inside the cottage, but outside they will be delighted that Kolmården’s Wildlife Park is just half an hour away over the ferry.
At the estate there is the chance to help out with the every day care of the beekeeping, work with honey, caring for the horses and supervising the deer enclosure (from 2008) and all other chores, depending of course on the season.

Cottage´s Fixtures and Fittings
The kitchen has a large dining area and is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer and all necessary crockery and glassware. In the kitchen there is also a digital "kitchen TV".

The Bedrooms
The two bedrooms downstairs are fully furnished and decorated in an older style with genuine furniture & paintings.
All floors are varnished original spruce.

Shower /WC
The newly bulit (2006) bathroom contains a washbasin, washing machine, water heater, shower cabinet and WC.

The Loft
The loft is decorated with white tongued spruce panel, and equipped with 2 beds, 3 chairs, coffee table, digital TV, DVD and video.
A perfect place for the children to have as their own special place during the holiday!
