Ormsätter is situated almost at the end of the Vikbolandet peninsula in eastern Östergötland. Vikbolandet means “the land between the coves”, and is bordered in the north by Bråviken that leads into the harbour of Norrköping. In the south Vikbolandet is bordered by the cove Slätbaken that leads into the starting point of Göta Kanal -Söderköping.
In the east, our beautiful archipelago opens up with hundreds of islands and skerries. The archipelago is a part of the northen region of what is known as St. Anna’s archipelago, or more modernly – The Blue Coast. (see map at the bottom of the page)
To get to Vikbolandet there are four main roads: From the north via the ferry between Skenäs and Säter. There are signs already at the road E4 south of Nyköpingsbro. Follow the sign ”färja” and Arkösund together with Östra Husby.
From the south via ferry at Stegeborg. The ferry departs from the edge of the castle ruin. From Söderköping you go north, just as you have passed Göta Kanal on the way to Norrköping towards Östra Husby a journey of barely 25km.
From the west, Norrköping, you follow the signs of the national highway 209 towards Arkösund.
A few kilometres before Arkösund, look for a sign on the left hand side. Where it says "Gottenvik 7" and the road turns in to the right. Follow this road for about 2km and you will reach "Jonsberg’s Station’s" old train stop. The rails were removed already in 1961 but the station house, the lineman’s cottage and the old shops (Ica & Konsum) are still there, however not opened!
Here, you go to the left towards "Skriketorp" and "Ormsätter". Follow the gravel road for 1 kilometre until you reach the first farm. Then you are here.
